Day 1 — Ivrea and Carema
A guided visit of the old town of Ivrea, the Cathedral, the Castle and the story of the traditions that lead to the Historic Carnival. Lunch in an artisan workshop in the old town. In the afternoon, an excursion to Carema, home of Nebbiolo, with its celebrated terraces that made viticulture possible in an otherwise impossible setting. This is followed by a tasting of local wines in an evocative setting. Overnight stay in a local B&B.
Day 2 — UNESCO Ivrea and the Balmetti
The UNESCO tour of Ivrea celebrates the modern vision of Olivetti architecture, a symbol of technological progress integrated with respect for the local community. We then move on to discover the Balmetti, stone and wood structures resembling natural cellars, used for centuries to preserve wine and today a testament to the social life of the area north of Ivrea, where a tasting of wines with cured meats and cheeses takes place. In the afternoon, we return to Ivrea for a snack featuring the renowned Torta 900.
